In other words, as Christians reflected on Jesus’ life, the great “moments” of that life (the resurrection, the baptism and eventually the conception) were convenient and useful occasions for clarifying who he was: the Messiah or anointed King of the House of David and the unique Son of God through the Holy Spirit.
